 It was purely a girls’ night out. Ben was already out of town (to Disneyland with his parents, no less), making it even simpler for me to sneak away with my girlfriends.

Try this Gluten Free Healthier Broccoli Raisin Salad for a lighter take on this popular party salad. This dish is entirely devoid of processed sugar and is sweetened with honey.

INGREDIENTS

When dressing:

1/2 cup of mayonnaise
1 teaspoon vinegar made from apple cider
2 tablespoons of lemon juice, fresh
Honey, 11-2 tablespoons
1/2 tsp. of onion powder
Poppy seeds, 1 teaspoon
Salt, 1/4 teaspoon
1/4 cup pepper
1/4 teaspoon of mustard, ground
Garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon
To make the salad:
broccoli florets, roughly 4 cups, diced
13 cup of raisins
3 tablespoons of crumbled bacon
1/4 cup chopped walnuts, pecans, or sliced almonds

DIRECTIONS
Mix the dressing ingredients in a large mixing basin. To taste, season and add sugar.
Prepare 4-5 cups of broccoli in a dish with the dressing (start with 4 cups). Include more salad ingredients. Mix-ins are thoroughly dressed by stirring. To get the ideal dressing to salad ratio, add extra broccoli if necessary.

Before serving, chill for 30 minutes.
