When it comes to breakfast foods, we are big fans!!! We love , , or , , and more. But there is something about a classic waffle that can’t go wrong. Top with fresh whipped cream, and homemade , yum!!!

This classic waffle recipe offers a crispy exterior, and soft fluffy interior. Yum!

These classic waffles are everything good about breakfast, and are so Eazy Peazy to make, you will put them in your regular breakfast rotation. Everyone needs a good classic recipe for waffles in their arsenal, and these ones are perfect because they can be cooked in any waffle iron and will turn out, you just have to adjust the cooking time a little, and are made with ingredients you likely already have on hand.

I love a good waffle, but have found that many of the homemade versions call for buttermilk, and that is just not an ingredient I keep on hand all of the time. I have decided some powdered buttermilk is a pantry staple, but let’s be real, it just isn’t the same. Now, when I want to make these , the powdered buttermilk works great, but in general I am not impressed.

And so I did some recipe testing to create a classic waffle recipe that would be no fail, and that my whole family would love, using things I already have. Success!

Delicious fluffy interior and crispy exterior, these classic waffles are a family favorite for a reason.

The exterior is nice and crispy, which means it soaks up the syrup without turning into a soggy, yucky mess. But the inside is that light fluffy airy, flavorful, deliciousness you want from a waffle. One of the things I wanted to perfect was a waffle that would work in a classic iron, AND a Belgian iron. I was having a difficult time getting the batter to get crispy on the outside and soft on the inside in all scenarios. I believe I finally got it right, and that is the recipe I am sharing today. It has been extensively tested in several waffle irons. I even borrowed irons from my neighbors so I could try it in different brands and thicknesses.
