Quick and easy baked oats you don’t need an oven for!

Start the day right with this healthy baked banana porridge containing walnuts, banana and cinnamon. Bananas are a good source of the amino acid tryptophan, which the body needs to make the feel- good hormone serotonin.

Ingredients for Banana Baked Oats

1 medium banana
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 cups vanilla extract
½  baking soda
1 cup milk

Step 1
Place oats in a blender and process until they form a fine flour. You need 1 cup blended oats.
Heat oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5.  Top with the remaining banana halves and scatter over the walnuts.

Step 2
Mash banana in a glass or microwave-safe dish. Mix in cinnamon and vanilla. Pour in blended oats and baking soda and mix to combine.

Step 3
Cook in the microwave until set, about 2 minutes.
