I’m a little bit fascinated with creating my own carob nutella and coconut yogurt, as you may have observed from my Facebook and Instagram. I couldn’t resist the lure of combining these two ingredients in a decadent yet nutritious apple yogurt parfait enhanced with a dash of strudel.
Serving your dessert neatly piled in a transparent glass is the way to go when you have company and need to mix up a quick dessert that can also provide jaw-dropping effects. You may dress up the appearance by using unique jars or grappa shot glasses (like the ones I used), or you can add eye-catching extras like fruit or a dusting of superfood powders.
I chose to use apple sauce and coconut yogurt as the major components of my parfait since I adore the flavor combination of the two.
I chose to add some raisins, maca powder, and a dash of cinnamon to simple apple sauce to give it a strudel-like flavor in order to make it taste more intriguing.
Fruity yogurt parfait with apples (Dairy & Gluten Free, Paleo, AIP)
Although making these parfaits just takes a few minutes, they need to be chilled for a while. In reality, when the components in the apple sauce layer settle down and the coconut yogurt and nutella thicken in the refrigerator, the coconut flake layer hardens and the ultimate strudel flavor is created.
Fruity yogurt parfait with apples (GF, DF, Paleo, AIP)
INGREDIENTS: The Coconut Yogurt Layer Procedure is as follows: For the apple sauce layer, use 4 tbsp. coconut yogurt.
Unsweetened Apple Sauce, 4 tbsp. Raisins: 1 tsp; Maca Powder: 1 tsp (avoid if on the AIP) Ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon For the Maple Coconut Flake Layer: 1 tsp. Raw Honey
For the Nutella Layer: 2 tablespoons of raw honey and 4 tablespoons of coconut flakes
1 cup Carob Powder For the toppings, use 5 tbsp. coconut milk.
